ok so i was at my lfs and i saw this little guy anyone know what type of fish he is

Not a sailfin blenny. His mouth isnt built to pick at algae

here’s a video of it if it will help i decided to pick it up

it’s in a 10gal that i didn’t take down yet and it’s completely empty besides a single baby mushroom and some sea lettuce macro and if it’s a non reef safe fish then i am planning on taking it back and before anyone says anything it was in a smaller tank at the store

yeah that’s what i was thinking but he doesn’t really have a lot of red on him
They do come in many colors from brown to red. If not a rooster it definitely resembles a wasp. Most don’t get that large either. Only thing that throws it off is the clear fins, they usually have pigmented fins.
If it is a rooster I believe @lion king had some.

If it is a rooster I believe @lion king had some.
it looks like a fish called a rino blenny

Yeah that seems about right. If it was a rooster fish 20 gallons is plenty enough, but I don’t know too much about that type of blenny.

Its the face that had me stumped too. That and the blurry photo. Ive recieved a specimen labeled as starry blenny that had this face too.
Algae blenny markings.
The video forsure is not an algae blenny lol
