What type of water barrel to use

Hello,
I have the chance to buy 4 - 55 gallon white plastic (recycling symbol #2) barrels for about $100. The user stored dry corn in them for a corn burner he had. Would these be safe to put RODI water in the?

2 is HDPE which is food grade and what you want. If it was used for corn I would clean it with vinegar or bleach and you should be good. That’s if you trust him.

Your choice should be fine. However you asked what I used and that is brute trash cans. Thing is I doubled up on them. It's about 20 degrees in my garage as we speak so I put the trash can in the other trashcan to get a yeti mug like effect. Then a simple small heater can keep it from freezing with out going crazy 24/7.
