What up R2R tank noob

What up all. So much awesome info here and I could go crazy trying to find specific chats I did try to search couldn’t get to the issue I’m going through.
New tank almost 5 months all my parameters have been decent through the process. The last week something has changed on me and my mag has gone up. Hanna checker reading 1660 today over the last few days it’s been in the 1500s.
I had been dosing with brs brand trying to keep in the 1400s no specific number.
I have not dosed mag the last 9 days cause it had been 1450+.
I do dose calcium and alkalinity (brs) daily for the most part but calcium has been around 450 the last few days so no dose of that.
Alkalinity needs dosed daily it drops consistently.
Tank readings
Alk 9.4
Calcium 453
Mag 1660
Phos .03
Nitrate .4
Ph 8.2
I did just start over the last 2 weeks over feeding to try and keep phos and nitrate readings up otherwise they zero out.

There is a lot of error in magnesium testing…so it may be the tester. Have you verified with another test? Maybe get a salifert kit.

You could bring it down through water changes as long as the salt doesn’t have elevated levels.

I rarely dose mag in my system. I find that it stays pretty consistent.

Right on thanks. I have a Red Sea kit I can try and see if it’s different. Getting ready to do a WC today
