Hi Reefers,

Recently had a severe ick breakout due to the UV sterilizer not working too well(it's back up running 24/7 again), this reef has been running about 2 years now.

Today, we noticed these little worm looking things, they seem to be fan worms. Just want to confirm if they are fan worms and are they safe for the reef.
Attached is the picture and a YouTube link to the video:

Thanks Reefers!

Looks like fan worms/feather dusters to me awesome filter feeders. They are reef safe great to add to sumps

These are not feather dusters, feather dusters have a crown of radioles that they use to feed. These guys seem two only have two large tentacles they they send out. These are parchment worms (Chaetopterus sp.). They are sort of similar to hair worms or spaghetti worms but with only two tentacles like I mentioned. They are harmless filter feeders/detrivores.

I didnt watch the video before sorry, the worms on the sand bed are parchment worms and the worms on the bottom of that rock are feather dusters.
