Ok so this Dallas has been in my tank for about 4 weeks. Found out salinity was low (33) and fixed over the last week. I also had nutrients bottom out (because multiple water changes getting my sanity up) but fixed with AB+ and reefreoids. (5ppm and 0.05 now).

So here it is looking very dodgy. The polyps out look great. But the question is, what would you do now.

My numbers and photos of coral attached…

I look at pic again. Now I see polyps missing. No guarantee with acros. Maybe white lite pic would help too. How long did salinity take to change to 33ppt?

Some white lights, although blues show the polyps better

From first pics I didn't see the top pic had small window opened. It kinda looked like there was die off. Get one white from same angle as first pic. I can say I have had some acros in 1.024=33ppt ish. If it changes too fast though that can be what gets them. I would try to figure out how it happened in the first place. Somewhere between day 1 and 21 any guesses why or when?

Also pretty typical they change colors when you first get them while adjusting to new tank Sometimes it takes months to get color back.

Yeah it was a ****** refractometer. All sorted now maybe, but it’s just constant checking with calibration fluid.

I’m hoping that the no touch no affect will sort its self out now. Fingers crossed….

Oh sorry that sucks. If I would do anything though maybe bring alk up a little real slowly. After if it does get better closer to 7.5-8. If your interested check this out. Talks a bit about critical low salinity levels (way lower than 33ppt) Taking 10 -13 days to kill some acros. That's why I was wondering about white light pics. It might not of even been just the salinity if it happened slow enough. Hard to say if you don't know when it started. Just keep your eyes peeled I guess. https://www.researchgate.net/public...lds_of_Acropora_spp_on_the_Great_Barrier_Reef
