OH MY! I am so excited to see the amount of reefkeepers out there who are satisfied with their lighting. If this would have been done before LEDs I don't think this ratio would be the same. VHO v CFL v MH was a total cluster. I am running ReefLED90 and can't say a single negative thing about it other than a single issue during setup. 2.5 years later it is still growing corals fast and looking good while doing it.

I do miss my 10k HQI, fish and clams looked great.

This week we are going to dive into some lighting topics and there's no better way to kick it off than to see what lighting everyone is currently using! We also need an answer to the second question as well please! So let's talk about it!

1. What light(s) are you currently using to light your reef tank?

2. What types of corals are you keeping in your tank?
Just built a custom Mahina Corals QuantaPro fixture to replace some Kessils that left a lot of shading and didn't give me enough actinic pop for my taste. Love these bars, they got a ton of power compared to others. Can easily keep my Nems, Montis and LPS

Mine is old school super blue - two Meso Blues and an OG Pop, most people would prob want a whiter option

ATI powermodule over an 80G cube. 8 T5's with 2 LED clusters.

6 blue+, and 2 Actinic, I then mimic purple plus with the LED cluster for a more whiter look during peak. I get roughly 250 par on the sandbed, and 500+ on the upper range.

SPS dominant.

Super happy with the look, and par it puts out.

One used AI Prime 16 (not the HD) over my 5g. It's definitely a step up from my first light. I'm keeping aps, soft corals and one nps (not that the nps cares about light). Everyone is doing well.

I am light my mixed reef with an aquatic light hybrid with two Kessil AP 700’s. So far so good after borrowing a par meter from a reefing buddy.

Tank dependent answers...

Happiest!!
1. Newest tank (RSR 350) = 2 Radions- XR15's Gen 5 Blue for my Mixed Reef
2. Mostly sps frags now, a couple Zoas, but more LPS planned for the future -torches, gonis, hammers, frammers

Happy!
1. Former Display (46Gal Bowfront) = T5 Unit from Aquatic Life and a Kessil A 80 Tuna Blue for added shimmer
2. Almost entirely softies, lots of GSP and toadstool leathers, and a beautiful Goniopora
IMG_7838.jpg

Live with it.
1. Hospital and Acclamation Tanks = Inexpensive strip LED set mostly to a blueish spectrum
2. Leftover and curing live rock, lots more toadstool leathers, and is algae a coral:face-with-tears-of-joy:

You don't want to see a picture.
