What's growing on my hammer?

I'm not familiar with softies. But this head is growing out of the base of my hammer. Any ideas?

Oh great! I always assumed they grew and just split.

They will often bud at the base where flesh meets skeleton. That bud, at least for me, has never grown into a new head. Always just stayed roughly the size of the one you pictured.

Any euphyllia I have ever owned bud like this, but only grow by splitting heads.
