Two days ago this guy was large and green and vibrant. This morning he looks like he's been knocked over and I've never seen that bright yellow color on him before. Plus there are brown splotches on him. Parameters are all fine. No fish in tank at present due to ich outbreak. All other corals are thriving.

You looked at him funny. Stop that!

Seriously though, leather corals will go thru phases where they shed. This time they will shrivel and not open for a bit. They are also very good indicators of any water parameter being off slightly. Just make sure to keep the tank parameters in line, get some decent flow for the shed to happen, and keep an eye out for any black marks. Should be fine.

Mine have closed up for over a month when I have been messing with tank. Come back bigger and better usually.

Plus 1 on your glass and plus 1 on leathers molting and growing. I have had them close up for over a month and when it starts to come back it grew over a inch.

The cleaning of algae on the glass is food to organisms, so do that often to avoid uglies growing. My gorg tank loves it when I clean the glass.

Is it doing any better? How about an updated pic?
