Finally

Something more primitive than my setup

Thanks so much Jeff for posting.

Eddie
I gotta say Eddie, that 16" fan is effective. I saw a three degree drop over about four hours. Had the humidity in my house been lower, it would have been better. Once we're running our AC for the season, the fan really doesn't run that much. This is more a factor of reduced humidity then ambient temperature. How do you cool?

Jeff

No big fan. My wife keeps the house somewhat cold - winter and summer. When I replace the MHs with LEDs I will not have the slight heating problem that I have now. Mostly I shorten the light cycle. Do not have any other way.

Today over lunch; topped off ATO reservoir; cleaned skimmer neck, cup and overflow; swapped out a filter bag & cleaned glass. Tonight, refill Ca reactor, replace GFO & rinse some foam blocks.

Because of salt creep and some defective LEDs I had to take my fixture apart and re do a lot of the solder joints, drill and tap about 50 holes and replace the fans. I really should have put a splash shield on this thing when I built it. If I ever get time, I will build another fixture.

Just added sand to my bare bottom. Also had to remove a broken gyre that I hope I can put back on once warranty parts come in.

Well this weekend I took down my 180g mixed reef and replaced the floors in my fish room. Well I then went to rehook up my 180 and somehow it grew into a 325g acrylic tank with dual external overflows! It was pretty sweet!

After a year of having my 125 gal tank sitting in limbo in my house, I finally took it down and moved it to my auto shop.
Now she's back up and running, I just did a water change this morning. Got two clowns, some green polyps and a xenia in there right now. We are getting one of the rose anemones from the coral reef when Amy takes down the tank.
The last anemone was the reason why my tank went into limbo after the anemone got into the power head and crashed the tank.

So this time we have replaced our 900 gph return pump with a 2500gph pump, removed the power heads, and created more open spaces in the rock structure for her to hide in.
This time I think the new anemone will be happy and so will I!
can't wait to get the new anemone and all the fish and coral I want for the tank.
