So I just realized I most likely have red bugs/white bugs in my tank. One of my sps is showing signs. Didnt realize for a few weeks, now when looking closer I'm 99%positive I have the bugs. I did a treat ment about 2 or 3 years ago but can't remember the thread or what dosage I used. Can someone help me? These are the pills I have.

Apparently the general consensus is still 1 tablet per 400 gals for red bugs, and up to 6x for white bugs and black bugs. Once a week for 3 weeks.

Try and dip the coral and see if you can get some sort of id. If you can’t, you may need to assume grey bugs and go with the substantially higher dose. Both can be seen with the naked eye, but the red bugs are actually more yellow, and if you can magnify them you can see a little red butt on them. Grey bugs are more of a beige, but show up dark grey/black under a microscope.

This is what inwas able to id under my microscope. Leading me to believe that it's most likely white bugs or grey bugs. I started my treatment last Saturday. Will be doing my second treatment today. I added 3 large pills to my 300 gal system which comes out to about 4-5x the standard dosage . I believe i am making a dent as the pink lemonade that was most affected with 0 polyp extension is now showing light improvement in the thickness of its tissue and there is slight polyp extension peeking out.

Don’t want to hijack but where can I get that stuff one of my sps has them I’m sure. Was just bought like five days ago have not noticed any on my other ones.

I couldn’t tell from the video but those looked like actual red bugs, not the grey bugs shown above. Either way it’s milbemycin oxime that you need, and best way to get it is a vet, sometimes exotic animal vets can help especially if you show them a video.

Was curious if your treatment was successful at the three pills for three weeks? I have 300g I want to treat. Did you do water changes between treatments or at the end of all three weeks?
