Whats up with my hammerhead

So I have had this hammerhead for about 6 months and had been doing well till recently. Whats the brown stuff coming out? Is it dying?

That is zooxanthellae expulsion
Any recent changes made in chemistry or tank feeding?

No but I am having a hard time maintaining stable Alk. But that doesn't seem to be bothering anything else in the tank to much.

it may be the start of BJD in early stage but the way it is presenting itself it looks like expulsion. BJD is a bacteria that rapidly covers the flesh of euphyllia.
