So I've had it for about 2-3 weeks.
Here is what it normally looks like

But then yesterday it started acting up and has looked like this for 24 hours. I mean its been changing a bit, but nothing like it normally looks like

I read where they shead, which I hope is what this guy is doing. All water per checks and nothing new has been added.
Thanks

Totally normal, mine will do this in the course of a few minutes the an hour later it will be fully extended. I have found the more flow I give mine, the more it expands.

Ok, I can move it butI heard it does best with indirect flow

Totally normal. Mine gets mad at times when I mess around in the system and will close into a ball even for days. It is fine. I have had mine for over 10 years. Nice size one you have there.

Both of mine liked more indirect flow.....they grew so big I had to do trades for smaller ones. .

Dude is back to normal, thanks for all the help.

Another quick question.
Should I move this guy off the sand bed an on to a rock?
Thanks

This is very zoomed in, this guy is a new addition. About 8-10" under the LED and placed in a fairly direct flow.

Seems to love it. From what I've read/seen- direct flow helps sluff off mucus and algae.

Just make sure if you move it up you do it incrementally and/or monitor it so it isn't over exposed or 'sunburned'
