My hammer today, one of the heads not extending. And i can’t tell whats wrong with it. My mag is 1400, my calcium is 430, my alk 8.5. And my ph is 8.2 stable. I feed 2-3x a week. Red sea ab+. And reef roids, reef chilli fed yesterday. Salinity is 1.026. Phosphate 0.18 and nitrate 9.6

I havent done a water change in few weeks, as iv been dosing all for reef, and its been going good. My hammer used to extend BIG. Really cant tell whats wrong with it. I attached a picture of how it looked like but yeah.

and thats the video of how 1 head not opening. Nothing peeking on it. I fed twice, and it was fine yesterday. Do i do a water change? Its been like 2-3 weeks without one. Didnt want to bottom out my nutrients

Nothing at all. Flow i was 50%. I dropped it down to 40%. But it wasn’f even a major change same profile reef crest. And the hammer is behind a rock, and not directly infront or near the wave makers. I really didnt change anything. I added a foxface 3 days one spot 3”. But yeah. And 3 new corals

At this point I would keep a watch on it . More than likely your new one spot might have aggravated it either looking for algae or brushing by it . Assuming you were careful dipping the new corals and inspecting for hitch hikers it should bounce back . I’m a water change advocate as I believe there are trace elements that are in the salt mix that we don’t always get in a bottle , but thats me . Keep a eye on it . Keep a eye on your phosphates as they are on the high side , not too high but it can go up fast when feeding reef roids . Good luck
