Excuse............. or should I say laziness ;)
Well that's one thing that doesn't exist in Diesels dictionary "being Lazy"
I wonder what's it then...........
Yes I'm lacking on my water changes :(
Since last year June I have done only 5 :p
5 water changes that was normally a 2 week schedule for me, now I look at my tank and all is looking perfect, checked my No3......... 7ppm, Po4........... 0.18, ALK............ 7.6, for the rest I don't even check that any more
Just filled up my ATO with super fresh RODI from my Icecap RODI Smart Water System , I'm so in love with that piece of equipment, not that I don't do much water changes any more I just run it to make water for the dogs.
So what kind of excuse you have.............

Your are running the DSR method of reefing:D:D:D and look like it is working.

I just filed a report with the water change police

Sometimes it is best just to leave things alone with our systems and it is not lazy too.:) I used to do the same when I was on the road allot and would come home after two to three months after someone doing top offs and feeding. I would would be amazed that everything was still alive and very clean. I would have to chip off all the coraline though.

Have you thought about an auto water change? This is what I am going to do. I figure with a 20 gallon tank I can go 30 days with a .5 gallon daily or even 1 gallon every other day, until I have to fill the tank and mix some Salt.

Have a good one Diesel:)

Thanks my friend.
I just leave it to be, I have done almost what I could do to a tank but always used common sense in doing so with a 100% success rate.
Large 75 gallon food grade water storage tank with a cole-parmer double head pump it's all in my shop ready to install but not sure if I can get to it in time.

I was thinking of going big and getting a 250g pallet tank and driving of to the west coast and doing a natural water change. That is on the way out there back burner right now. I am going small with the smaller tank and see how things work out. If I am happy with the results then I will go big.

I think you should go with the this as your aviator;)

Number one is water testing. Last real water test I did was 2 months ago. I did one yesterday because a coral took a turn for the worst.

to be honest I don't do many water changes either, I got my tank back running in October and haven't done any, everything has been testing great since I got things restarted and finally got the salinity corrected due to buying a refractometer. I keep the ATO topped off and everything seems to be doing great now, I test on a pretty regular basis, just yesterday to be exact after not testing for 2 weeks.
