I'm a small town ER doc, I love my job, everything about it. I was in school for 26 of the first 31 years of my life and owed $180,000 when I got out. Had to get out of reefing for 12 years while I paid off debts and raised 7 kids, now I'm back in and loving it. I work my tail off when I'm there but I can play with my tanks when I'm home.

im a police officer in PRPD detective of stolen vheicles divicion and inspector of federal leabel in ferrys whit home land security(ferrys of the carebean is a ship that travel cars from puerto rico to dominican republic)15 years in the job

I work as an IT consultant/tech/admin; Keyboard junkie as i call it. My boss and our company developed a "nut counting software" for the local almond industry in central California. The AG in the central valley is critical to our business and our biggest pride to be apart of.

We also service some 4 or 5 dozen businesses, some small and some large..

I also moonlight as an computer game critic among my friends;) It comes with the territory...

Full time college student at University of Tampa using the GI Bill. Majoring in Political Science and graduating in May! No, I don't plan on being a lawyer or a politician...and BTW political scientists do more than just that...haha. I have a few ideas of what to do after graduation.

IT professional/contractor for the last 6 years. Install Electronic Health/Medical Record Software for Physician Practices and Community and large Hospitals. Travel 95-100% of the year, all over the country and generally love it. Prior to that was floor nurse, which got old after 30 years. Betw een the job, new home, pets including saltwater and freshwater tanks, cat, parakeet and other half...I stay busy.

sub-contractor since I was 16.( what can I say I was a troubled youth)
when I was 19 I started breeding fw fish in my spare time; 14 types of cichlids ranging from calvas-tropheus and geophagus-discus
currently I am still working in construction out on workmans comp for the past 4 months but still in construction and in my spare time I keep reef tanks have successfully bread clowns. working on gobies and shrimp now and of course frags!
now at age 31, I am looking at going back to school for marine biology since my doctor says I cant keep doing what I do. until then I am living off my tanks lol. they pay better than workmans comp!

Hey Rev - I thought when I was little that I would like to be a Pastor. Only have to work one day a week and hundreds of people come and fill up all those baskets with money for you. Little did I know how much is required of those in your profession. Thank you for your service to God, your congregation and this reefing community.

I sort of fell into the food manufacturing business. Over thirty years ago I needed a job and factory work paid more than the other things I had done. The factory that hired me made bakery products and was very successful. People always have to eat and when the economy is good they stop and get donuts on the way to work. When the economy is bad they get depressed and buy a chocolate cake to cheer them up. After 26 years they had a "corporate restructuring" and I was "downsized" out on the street. I spent the last four years at a small company that closed down at the end of last month. They made entrees mostly for the school system and I gained a lot of experience working with the USDA since the company made products with meat in them. I had an interview this morning with a staffing company who is sending me on Friday to interview with a company in the Bourbon industry. Never worked in a distillery but I like their product!

The most important thing is to have a positive attitude about work. Unfortunately we have to work to make a living. If you hate the job, go find one you can love. If you hate to work, you will always hate whatever job you get. If you like to work you will love every job you have. It's hard and it's against human nature to want to go to work but you'll never be happy doing it until you learn to love what you do for a living. I have had 19 jobs in my life counting my first as a full time dishwasher the summer I was 14 and many part time jobs while in school and early in my career when I had to work two jobs. I absolutely loved every single one of them. I can't say I loved every person I had to work with but I got along with everyone fine. I also never sought out a job doing something I hate like cutting grass.

Good luck making up your mind what you want to do. If you choose to ask God about it, He will let you know what is best for you and how to achieve it.

Graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a statistics degree in 2009 and have been working with this company ever since.

I found out about reef tanks in early 2010 and have since lost significant portions of my paychecks to it since
