What is your dream job?

So niche but definetly a fish store and be able to study coral and fish to help the community in better taking care of fish and all different types of animals such as exotic and avian

I wanted a job where they paid me much more than I was worth, constantly told me what a great job I was doing, commented me on how good I looked, gave me paid vacations even when I wasn't on vacation and gave me maternity leave even though I am a man. 😳

I didn't get that job. 🙁

I was a construction electrician foreman in Manhattan on commercial and industrial jobs for almost 50 years. We didn't do any Sissy houses.

I worked on a wide variety of interesting jobs including helping to build the World Trade Center. I even installed the lightning rods on the parapet walls on top.

I worked 2 years installing the fire alarm system in the Empire State Building where I would eat my lunch at the base of the antenna. I installed it by using a bolsons chair in the 86 floor air shaft in the center of that building.

The top picture I am hanging off the Plaza Hotel installing Metal Halide lights. I took some home for my tank. It was 17 degrees that day and that is snow covered Central Park below me.
The bottom photo I am in the white helmet CAD welding ground cables in a NYC garbage incinerator. 😀

I renovated all the machine rooms in the Chrysler Building. Renovated 2,500 rooms in the Plaza Hotel and built the New York City Playboy Club. 😎

I think I worked in or helped build most new buildings in Manhattan. 😊

I retired 20 years ago and now I am busier than I have ever been and my biggest problem is that just aren't enough hours in the day and I wish i didn't have to sleep as I have far too many hobbies 😆

I'm retired for about 3 years now. I love every second of it. In the last year I've had both knees replaced, and that has taken up most of me time lately.

But now that I can stand and actually walk, I'm going to see if I can get a part time job at one of these dog daycare places🐶 🐕

Becoming a business owner. It has allowed me to build a proper team to spend more time with my wife and daughter.

Only negative effect of first business running successful. Is now I want to open a coral farm😂

I work as a Clinical Research Coordinator at a hospital. I enroll patients into Pharmaceutical Company sponsored trials at both the Phase 2 and 3 level. Pediatrics.

My dream job would be to create a reef-related product that sells really well and also own a reefing business while also being able to have free time to travel when I want.

I'm not sure I want to work that hard anymore 😛

I’m a software engineer, and that’s always been my dream career since I was a little kid, although AI has been taking some of the fun out of it lately

I think if I were going to change it up I would still be a software engineer, just for a different company in a different industry lol

(Installed lightning rods at the World Trade Center... please tell, @PaulB... do your tanks have grounding probes? Lol. 🤣)
I actually took one home. I have it somewhere around here.

(Hi My name is Mary)

So, when I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian. Then I grew up, learned what they actually do and it can be some really traumatic stuff....Fast forward to now. What do I do? Well it is pretty close to a "dream job" but I never imagined this was "the one".

I get paid to talk about aquariums and help people be successful in start up to expert level aquarium stuff. When I got this job 15 years ago, I submitted a photo of my aquarium as part of my resume. I was young and didn't really know "the business" and I had dabbled in a lot of jobs that I liked but I didn't get much satisfaction from. What I knew I enjoyed though was customer service. I did find satisfaction in that. Repeat customers, family like interactions, discussing topics I actually cared about..........And 15 years later, I still do. Everything about my job keeps me intrigued and equally entertained. It just never gets old and I never take it for granted.
My dream job is something remote that allows me to travel the world without being tied down to an office. I actually managed to find my current freelance gig thanks to this awesome platform, and it completely changed my lifestyle.
So....What do you do now, and what is your dream job?
It's funny how life works out. My current job wasn't something I ever planned for, but it turned out to be a much better fit than the career I thought I wanted when I was younger.
