If you see any new ones (babies), remove as soon as you can.I found all three.
They’re predatory - typically eating things like other snails (your CUC), crustaceans (ornamental shrimp and such), worms (CUC and ornamental), etc. A few species (not “true whelks” but whelks nonetheless- such as a few Rapanine Whelk species) also eat corals.Never heard of a whelk until. Can someone educate me on why they are bad for a reef? TIA.
Hmmm… looks like I also have some whelks terrorizing my tank. What should I do to get rid of them?If you see any new ones (babies), remove as soon as you can.
