Absence of the trailing tail and he snout markings suggest whelk
Additionally, nassarius glide across the sand exceedingly fast, moving on a large foot that allows them to move forward effortlessly. (from Melev)
Also, the feeler or eye stalks appear to be longer on the Nassarius snails, when you compare them to the Whelk's extended appendages. see pic below as whelk is slower moving and darker
