I have a toadstool leather coral that hosts my pair of clowns in my existing 80 gallon aquarium.

I will eventually be moving them to a 280 gallon mixed reef I’m setting up. When would it be safe to move them into the new tank?

My cycle is complete in the new tank. I am in the ugly stage with some green hair algae. So far all I have in there are some snails I added today.

I don’t want to rush the move but I do want them to go into my new tank before other fish so they get comfortable and to hopefully minimize any bullying from tangs I plan to have in the new tank eventually.

Would appreciate any advice!

I don't know the answer, but I did just want to chime in and say that's a massive toadstool and super cool to see!

I ended up moving him about 3 weeks after this post. I let some of the ulgy algae die off, moved a few fish first and once they were doing well moved the toadstool and clows. All are doing great!
