Just curious how many years they go before new models.

They are very good at providing upgrade paths and supporting older units, so if you are thinking of getting their equipment then just go for it. I have no idea if or when replacements might be coming out but I am using the equipment you mention and I don't feel the need to change.

GHL is very tight lipped when it comes to items and what they are working on. It’s only when they are close to release do we learn about them. Just like all companies trying to decide when to buy or not is a crap shoot.

I do like their ability to upgrade. I was just curious how long the typical go in-between new models.

P2 was introduced in the early years of 2000 (2004-05 or so) P3 was introduced 2009 with minor upgrades up to 3.1T and the P4 a couple of years ago if I remember the history right.

They also have had other additions to the line during the time the P4 has been out. For instance the 4E is 2 probe version "essentials". Last year they released the Mini WiFi.

Yes but I was referring to the different "platforms" there P2 and P3 is one and P4, WiFi mini P4e. P light Wi Fi is another. P4 and P4e has is analoges in P3.x ex and P3.x. P2´s analog is WiFi mini and light have been there all the time - the light WiFi is closer to the P4 family. I suspect that the OP underlying question was - is it wise to invest in a P4 now or is there another upgraded model coming soon. One thing with GHL is that they put a lot of time doing the new things backwards compatible. Most things for P4 is possible to still run on a P3.

Sincerely Lasse

Just planning on jumping into this decade. I still run 400W MHs and an Neptune system pro model.
