what, exactly, are you doing in your avatar
below shows how effective bottle bac can be in a typical skip cycle setup. cycle=a period of wait for a buildup that allows a start...he opted out of that.
this guy below didn't get the full complement of bac the tank will ever evolve to in one dose, he got the only kinds that matter to stamping a cycle closed: ammonia controlling kinds. the rest fill in over the coming months, they dont have to be there to start.

some see that thread as dangerous, I see it as a coming wave of fifty thousand cycles we can accept or not but they're still coming, since bottle bac works and is one of the best things ever produced for the hobby.
*if polled before setup, 99% of hobbyists would have said that cannot work.

a bump for changing cycle science in the hobby...what's required, what's not required to effectively start a reef tank is changing even if we keep telling people to wait 30 days. time waiting for test kits to agree is not required per above although if someone wants to verify light ammonia oxidation ability to prove they didnt get a dead bottle of bac thats understandable.
whats absolutely not required is an arbitrary wait period where the bac that handle ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are given time to build up. only the ammonia portion matters, in an actual start. that seems like a heretical statement/aware/give us more months to build examples
