So I have been noticing for a while that cat food is getting worse, the go to food for the last 30 years they do not like anymore, or they eat it and throw up, I went to Target last night and there was barely any food on the shelves, I always thought that the cat food was produced in the US, is that correct? Is the food that is being sold today is just really old stock and we are almost out of it? I noticed fish food as well is out of stock. Any thoughts or answers?

We feed prescription dry food that we get through Vet Source to 2 of our cats but our third cat has bad teeth and has trouble with the dry. She can’t have a dental done because she can’t go under Anastasia due to underlying health issues so she gets Hills Science Diet wet food. None on the shelves anywhere. Even Chewy has been out of stock for months.
My wife is in Veterinary Medicine and has spoken to Hills reps. The issue (at this time) is not the food but the cans to package it in. The packaging comes from overseas according to the rep she spoke to.

I am sorry for the hit and run, ask a question and bail, I have made it back and I would like to thank you guys for chiming in, it seems like we are getting food in the back of the warehouse, and it is probably really old, I think the quality is way down as well, our 5 cats loved Meow Mix, our oldest cat with bite a small personal hole in the bag for her nibbling, our oldest cat got to the point that she could not eat it anymore, she never wanted can food just her Meow Mix. We just got a new cat, when i gave her last can she ran up and smelled it and she did the dig motion like she wanted to bury it. We got lucky and our cat loves Iams Pro Active food.
