Looking to build my own frag tank and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where I should purchase my acrylic and what thickness it should be. The tank itself will be 12 inches tall. 18x18 will probably be the size. Approx 17 gallons.

Check local glass shops. Many can also have or can get acrylic. You can also order online from places like tapplastics.com. Cast acrylic is usually preferred to extruded but does cost more.

In Modesto you may want to try Plastics 2000. https://plastics2000.net/

You migjht find that the cut-to-order , polished edges, acrylic panels can be quite expensive, much more than a 20g long from Petco. Also lighting is easier to find for this size tank.
