So, yes I am new to this but I am thinking my tank is ready for some corals. I have a trumpet and leather I got from a friend. Where is a good place to get some hammers and torches? It seems that most places are selling these holy grail one which I do not want to try as my first corals.

One of your best bets would likely be AquaSD they have a variety from cheaper, $55/head on up. Or check out eBay auctions, also from AquaSD, or WWC or others. Many big vendors also sell on eBay. Or check live sales from vendors on here. Not always the greatest but an opportunity none the less

Pieces of the ocean has always been reliable for sourcing both of those types of corals.

If you have a Local Fish Shop (LFS) id try there first.
