We own a business in an insanely busy ski town. February for some bizarre reason is the busiest month of all 12. So unfortunately, for my fish tanks they need to "free range" a bit until I can take proper care of them.
Over the years, this has been both OK and disastrous… But I'm learning how to balance it out. It gets better every year.
Today I'm doing the full six month breakdown cleaning up all the pumps and parts.
When I opened up my cabinet, I saw some very interesting things that I will include pictures of and I would love any input you all have time to give.
First of all, I am new to the Red Sea 4-dose system. All of the bottles seem to be suctioning inward. Should I loosen the caps a little bit? It seems to have caused a bit of sputtering splashes. And then on one of the tubes that drips into the water was growing this stalactite /stalagmite thing. So I'm not sure it's been dosing correctly at all?
I have also found these little crazy little creatures on my pump, skimmer and reef mat. What are these?
I know that was a lot, pretty much a disaster over here, but at the end of the day, I should have it tuned back up. Thanks everybody!
