The risk is contamination from residue. I’d probably test it on a qt tank first before the main tank. Chemical residue from the media to the tank will be a nightmare to deal with.agree -- that's what Ive used in the past --
just curious if the 38lb bucket that has color changing media would work -- its cheaper and 7x more (amount wise/lbs wise)

Best value I've found, I like that it changes from white to purple when exhausted. It works much better and cheaper than icecap media IMO
