Hi
We're going to set up our tank in the next month or so and I thought I'd ask your opinion on what type of dry rock you would recommend, and about how much would be needed for a Red Sea Reefer XL 300.

Please consider using some live rock, 1/3 to 1/2, for biodiversity benefits.
Using some seems to mature the tank faster.
Of course if it's not available in u k, then not an option.

If you want interesting, caribsea life rock shapes. I built several structures with the arches. Not sure how much. It looks like I used maybe 15 regular arches, about 5 or so bases, 4 mini arches, and two caves in a 48" x 29". I think your tank is 36", so maybe less. I tried to build vertically, like the "trees" they sell. Hard to see the detail and scale in the photo. Tank is 24" high. Attaching link to video of everything before I put it in the tank. I ended up not using the tallest piece in the back and moved the vertical arches around. For some reason, the photo just doesn't look very good. Video is more realistic.
