Can someone please tell me where I can get a white banded possum wrasse? Why are they so hard to find?

it has low collection rates in the wild, low commercial breeding success, and high shipping mortality risks. They hard to feed at first as they shy. Most retailers don't like that so very minimal stock. never buy from liveaquaria as well.

I wish these were available more often, saw an old Reef Builders article where they spawned in someone’s tank but the tiny pelagic larvae would make breeding them pretty darn hard. One day when we see them captive-bred I’ll be really glad.

Apparently when kept with low-stress tankmates they live surprisingly long for their size, think there’s a member here that’s had theirs for at least 9 years, and @Paul B has had a pair with the oldest one being ~10.

Feeding wise how are they?

I want a Possum Wrasse to be the last fish in my 40 gallon. Haven't started looking yet, but don't like hearing they're hard to find and can be difficult to feed.

I have a yellow banded possum wrasse in my 125 gallon with a 39 gallon sump. I wanted to get a white banded possum wrasse also. I’ve had the yellow banded for 2 weeks. He’s shy but nobody is bothering him. I feed a lot since I have a lot of fish and anthias.
