Any idea what this white fuzzy textured stuff is on the live rock? Tank is brand new - about a week old (13.5 Fluval Evo) with about 12lbs of established/cured live rock. This rock has been in since Weds., but the white growth is new. I’ve read that it could be coralline die off, but there was no coralline in the vast majority of the covered area. Also read that it could be a bacteria bloom. I have no livestock apart from some mushrooms and some zoa and clove polyps that came on the rock.

Ammonia: <.25
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0

haven’t tested for Alk or Calc, using local Natural Ocean Water (Winthrop, MA).

Is the tank new?
If so try a turkey baster and see if it will blow off. Looks like bacteria.
Brand new - about a week old, but started with cured, established live rock from other nearby reefers.

I’ll try the baster. I’m assuming if it’s bacteria, this is probably a good development.
