Hi Guys, I have had this coral rock for about a year now i think its a type of blasto but that kind of meaty multi head coral and about 2 months ago i noticed it wasnt looking good, wouldnt open fully and just looked a bit lackluster.

I have a notorius fleshy coral eater in my tank and thought it was him picking at it that caused the issues. moved the rock down into my sump to give it some respite and its been there since.

When i went to clean out the sump section and have a look at how it was going and noticed a secondry issue that i actually believe to have been the problem since the start.
and noticed a lot of this white mucus all over the bottom of the rock does anyone know what this is?

Sorry for the terrible photo i had to ask my family member to take it while i was holding onto this.

Is it removable? Or is it like a rubbery substance difficult to remove?

If it's rubbery it's probably a type of sponge.
