Anyone know what the white substance is

I was cleaning my tank and had my xena out of the tank cleaning some of the algae off of the rock it sits on when I dropped it fully into a bucket of rodi water. Since then the xeni hasnt looked great it has started kinda of coming back on the bottom of the rock but the top is growing some sort of white substance does anyone have any suggestions what that is I tried to get a good picture will try again tomorrow if someone cant figure it out. Thanks ahead of time

I don't know much about Xenia but a lot of corals will "slime" if injured or threatened. Leathers slough or shed periodically but I don't know that Xenia does that.

That would make sense in this instance hoping to save it they seem to be coming back on the back section slowly

It would help if you use white light to take some photos.

Usually Xenias have a stem which I cannot see, so are you sure this substance replaced the Xenia or do you just now see it that the Xenia is mainly retracted?

Please turn the blue lights off and leave only the white lights for pictures.
