Hi all, need some help… today installing the HAT on my PI 3 which I received yesterday. I think I messed up the boards on my lights, I did not notice that the PI HAT that I got from the ground is the first pin, on the boards on the lights is the middle pin, so when I connected it I passed power through the ground assuming I messed up my white channel because my whites are not coming on. So if this is true not sure if I messed up all 3 boards or only the first one, your thoughts ? what Im explaining does it make sense ? would anyone have any of those boards available ? or can these be fixed, I only have blue working and no whites and really do not want to run with no whites my corals might suffer a bit.
Below are the boards I think I burned one of the channel.

I will revert back one light to original connection just to confirm whites are working as per Tom suggest which is great! @bishoptf@Sral

@theatrus @Sral how can we go about and troubleshoot this board, here is the schematic and I had some made up and I think I remember that @theatrus had some made up. @diver22 switched pwm and ground I believe and thinks he may have messed something up since the whites are not coming on but not sure that is the case but was hoping someone could help trouble shoot the boards.

I think you might have missed to link the schematic ^^

WIthout one, the name of the board, or close up-pictures, I'm not sure how to go about troubleshooting.

Ok I opened the lights up, I confirmed the whites are working, also see below for a close up picture of the board . I added a few some might be better than others. Thank you in advanced.

Let make sure things are configured, I am using pwm 13, 14 to control my lights, see attached pics but you need to define the pca9685 driver, then configure the jacks then configure the lighting...

One more thing, try to get just one light working before linking them, just start to narrow down whats connected to figure out whats working and whats not.

music to my ears...lol but when I put back my original PI and used the same pins it did not work, so is why I thought it was something with the board, but let me double check according to your screenshots.

I tested all of the boards and verified they worked, however I did not daisy chain since I did not have 2 vipar's to test with but the boards should work fine since they are fairly simple so it must be something else. I would also try a different pwm channels, just try to eliminate and see if you can get it working. The hat has plenty of pwm channels..

ok, i still using my original PI Zero, has the same configs never changed... I'm going to make sure Im using the same exact pins on the PI Zero that I was using before, Also I'm running reef-pi 6.0...

I'm hoping I can get it to work with this original config and then once whites come on I will swap it to my Pi3 B+ with hat and rewire to make sure ground is ground on both ends.

Main difference is your original config is using RPI pwm and the hat will use pca9685 pwm driver, just have to configure the pca9685 driver and map it the same way you did the rpi and it should work.

Not perfectly sure, but I thinkyou are using the wrong pin on the PI. If I'm not mistaken, the PWM channels are on PIN 12 and PIN 35.

I'm a bit confused about that diagram, it looks kind of wrong. If you look into the Adafruit Doser guide, it uses PWM from the GPIOs #18 and #19, which are the correct pins for pulse code modulation as referenced by this pinout.

The GPIO numbers on yours look different, though I have no idea why.

I would just go with the 3b+ and the hat since that should be more straight forward imho. All the hats were tested including all of the pwm channels so I would just go with the final configuration and we just need to get it working. Again if you have multiple boards I would try a different one and see if you get the same results, try different pw channels also.

OMG, that was it, I was one pin off... I cannot say enough thank you @Sral & @bishoptf ... I will now try re-wiring it correct and putting back the PI 3 with HAT...

Tom, I will follow the diagram you sent me yesterday on the chat... and let you guys know... Thank you !

Ok had the time during lunch to configure the PI 3 B+... nothing... below are my settings.
Also getting 2 errors... not sure if the under voltage has a play in this... going to work on the under voltage issue now.
