Who can id this critter

Not a grasshopper Antenna are too long , agreeing with katydid.
Straight-Lanced Meadow Katydid

They eat anything and make a mess of roads they migrate thru the area

Soil breeding(had to google lol) have you looked in applying nematodes to the soil. I have different climate but i apply this to deal with Japanese beetles and hive beetles. They eat the larvae and do not effect beneficial pollinators. They also spread on their own. Can also look into attracting jay’s to your yard.(dont approach a nest if they build one in your yard [emoji23])

Lol i live in the high desert not many trees alot of sage and tumble weed and there not to close to my house i caught that one about 8 miles away there heading to mountains just north of me

Dude everyone knows it's in the family known as Gryllidae!

My closest LFS is over 150miles away so I get plenty of time to decide if I want to add to tank since I only go about once a month lol

Haha I was just thinking...doesn’t look like there’s ANYTHING close by. Wonder how far a fish store is from there??
