Hey yall,

Wanted to see if anyone could help out with a critter ID. I was out of town for a week on holiday and upon my return I noticed these little white dots (they appear white to the blind eye, but are more of a greenish color when under magnification) on a zoa frag plug as well as a few on the glass and a few on some snail shells. Been in the hobby for ~10 years now and this is the first I’ve seen this specific “critter”. They are only about a centimeter in diameter and don’t appear to be moving. I initially thought they might be some sort of tiny limpet or something, but threw them under a digital microscope and now Im leaning towards some sort of egg sack. First photo is the top of one, second photo is the underside of one which has been scraped off the plug (seems like some sort of eggs inside?). Note: the bright white you see in the photos is a reflection of the microscope’s build in LEDs. I would love to hear opinions or if anyone has seen this before.

Thanks in advance!!

Pictures of one in the tank may be helpful.

Do you have Nerite snails? Description almost sounds like a Nerite snail egg.
