Just reuse the old lid on your next new bucket. They are sometimes fingerbreakers on joint compound buckets too.

I tried that but believe it or not sometimes the old ones won't seal on the new bucket!:(

I have a salt bucket mini pry bar that I keep around to open them. The Red Sea buckets are obnoxious. There's a freaking rim that the lid is recessed into... WHY!?

I am amazed at the number of you who do not have a Bucket lid opener.. Some of the 5 Gal paint buckets are the Worse. Some are hard to open even with a opener .Last week i threatened one with SAW.

I have several buckets with screw on lids I use for water transport. Really nice and easy to use.

I agree! I love Red Sea salt, but my god, why make it so hard to open the dang thing.

I've never had issues opening the Brightwell bucket. The lid always had enough overhang to get a good grip.

LOL funny thread ....No-one pushes down into the centre of the lid with your fist whilst prying up with your fingers with your other hand ?
That. Is. Genius.

There's always a show off in every crowd! (walking to the fish room to see if it works!)
