I'm possibly looking at a 155g or 175g bowfront and I am wondering for those that have one, what do you like and dislike about it? Are there any inherent limitations to it based on the odd footprint?

Depends what kind of bowfront youre talking about. Some are just long 6 foot or 4 foot or 2 foot rectangles with a bowed front.

Some are corner shaped tanks with bowed fronts. Those are geberally shirter but extremely deep (front to back)

I have a 92g corner bowfront. And i love it. Id deff go bigger if i could find one. But the one major problem is lids, and they are almost too deep front to back. Also lightining it properly is an issue too Mine is 36 inchs deep. I have to stand on a chair to even reach in the back and i go shoulder/ chest deep

Thanks. What I've been looking at is non corner bowfronts... so just a rectangle with a bowed front glass. Lighting and stand/canopy are what seems like it would be a little difficult to sort out if you don't buy the stand/canopy with it.
