I really like dosing lime water and BRS 2 part using soda ash for ALK. Using a controller, I really on lime water for the bulk of the dosing. Using the three day drop method I then calculated how much to dose using the 2 part solutions to fine tune my ALK (8 dKh) and CA levels (430 PPM). Since I dose much less of these two it's easy to make small adjustments up or down based on my weekly testing which is compensating for the consumption by the corals and my PH only varies from 8.2ish to 8.3ish based on the lighting cycle. My one recommendation is having a controller to monitor PH is very important and I have alarms set so if my PH hits 8.4 the lime water doser shuts down. Also I monitor graphs to see the swings in PH and over time. The important most thing is results and I've noticed my coralline algae is a much deeper purple and SPS's are growing well and appear happy.
