Reminds me of some of the Asian freshwater fish dealers where they hold the poor fish in their hand out of the water for pics.

Hi everyone,

We understand that seeing fish photographed out of water can be concerning for some, and we truly appreciate your care for their well being. We want to assure you that our process was created with the health and safety of the fish in mind.

The fish are only out of the water for a very short period of time, no longer than what a typical hobbyist might do when transferring them during acclimation. During this time, we handle them carefully and always wear gloves to protect their slime coat.

We take these photos to ensure our customers receive exactly the fish they ordered. Clear, out of water photos allow us to accurately measure their size and specific traits so you can know exactly what fish you are purchasing and recieving.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We're always happy to answer any questions about our process or care standards.
