Why are my chalice bleaching

I need some help . Over the last month my chalices have started bleaching and going white . I have checked all the normal things like water parameters and they are
Alk 9.5
CA 420
Mag 1350
N03 2.5
P04 0.00

Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated

I had a hollywood stunner do this a few months ago for no apparent reason. All of my fish, LPS & SPS were fine. Perameters checked out as well. I thought for sure the entire chalice was dead but I now have about 10 little baby chalices growing on top of the dead skeleton.

Yes all my sps and zoa's seam fine . Want to mention it is a sps dominated reef

I had bin treating a briopsus problem with elicited mag for two months previously with no success so I slowly brought the mag back down to the leaves it is at now .

Corals have bin under the same lighting for well over a year and were flourishing under it until the bleaching started

I would also like to mention that not all chalice's are affected, only a purple watermelon , bazooka joe and two rainbow chalice .

I had the same issue except I raised mag to help rid Dino and my chalice began to bleach. I haven't been able to find anything that raising mag could actually be the culprit so I just gave up trying to figure it out.

Do you feed your corals? My best guess is too much light and/or not enough nutrients. I would move them to an area with less light and feed them at least twice a week. Keeping SPS and LPS together is a delicate balance and a challenge for even experienced reefers.

I don't think it's a light issue but I am leaning toward a lack of nutrients in the water as I was trying to starve out the bryosaus and was not feeding the tank as much . Have bin feeding more for the last couple weeks with no change to the chalice's one way or the other .

The light plays a role with nutrients is what BigJim was saying I believe. lower nutrients lower light and vice versa. I believe this may have been the issue with mine as well now that I think about it.

I see what you are saying here . Unfortunately I don't have place that has less light that I can put them . I may have to ride it out and hope they pull through .
