h2oh2o / I went through a few different bacteria companies . Each one helped to a point then another different algae showed up. I felt like i was chasing my tail. I am almost 4 month in with the zeo and tank looks much better. I finally took of my refugium so al the goodies in the water are available to the sps and anemones . System is 1200 gallons .

@ycnibrc: I've been dosing spongepower and Zeobak (at half the recommended dosage) for the past few weeks now. I also have ZeoStart (which I have not dose yet). I am currently dosing NOPOx at 6 ml a day. @Chaswood79 mentioned that NOPOx causes STN. What is the difference between NOPOx and ZeoStart? They seem to function the same way. Would you recommend replacing NOPOx with ZeoStart. Currently my PO4 is at 0.08 and Nitrate around 20-25. Thanks.

Zeostart3 and nopox probably the same but i cant tell u for certain however with phosphate at 0.08 n nitrate 20 u can reduce or even stop. If your corals is healthy they will consume the nitrate down. If you already using zeovit products then i dont see why not using zeostart3

Thanks. I tried lowering the dose of the NOPOx and my nitrate and PO4 would increase quite a bit. My total water volume is about 80 gallons. I do 15 gallons every week. I am just concerned if I do change over to Zeostart it would cause my nitrate/phosphate to spike...

Currently with dosing 6 ml of NOPOx my nitrates run between 20-25. Phosphate between 0.06-0.08. I tried decreasing NOPOx to 2 ml and within a few days my nitrates went up to 40ish and phosphate 1.2. I would love to set up a refugium but I have no room in my sump.

What is the source of nutrients that make your level go up fast? Do u have skimmer? If yes run wet. WC with 0 tds rodi water. What kind of food do u feed your fish?

If u only dose for a few weeks then keep doing it. U need at least 3 months of dosing before u can see any changes in your tank. Dont add anymore corals just keep what ever u have until u see a positive change. Keep alk, ca and mag steady make sure salinity is correct 1.025-1.026 what is your ph and temp?

Your total water is 80 and u do 60g wc that’s way too much. If u keep doing that your your tank cant be stable. The new water will change all of your parameters especially u do almost 80% monthly.

I feed LRF and PE mysis. WC is with 0 tds rodi water. I have a large skimmer and do run it wet. I do feed slightly on the heavy side.

Keeping everything “stable” is not the answer to sps issues. Something in that “stability” is stressing the corals, so a change, probably a drastic one, needs to happen.

Alk is at 7.6. Mag is 1320. Ca 410. Salinity is 1.025. Temp is 76. Haven't check ph in a while.

Water change is a way to export nutrients?
