Why has my IORC turned yellow?

In my years, I've never had this happen.

Typically, I purchase my IORC 200 gallon mix box. Inside, there are 5 bags, each making 40 gallons.

I have one bag on a shelf which I just noticed under white light, has turned yellow and has become hard.

Why did it turn yellow? Can I still break it up and use it?

Must have not been sealed correctly. I had this happen as well. I broke it up and made saltwater with it tests were off alk low, calc low mag high? Mag test who knows how accurate that was. I dumped it deciding it was not worth it if there were issues.

Also seemed as if some didnt mix properly or precipitated after/during mixing.

I'm wondering if BRS will do anything with this. I'll have to email them.

Just a guess, but maybe their famous "vitamins" had a reaction to some humidity? It would kinda make sense being that's been the blame for brown buckets.

That’s interesting; I have tremendous humidity in the room where my fishtanks are. And that is where the salt was stored.

But the bag is sealed; nothing is leaking out, so I wonder how this is possible.

Even though more convenient and sometimes consistent I stopped buying the bags. Seems at the least one bag outta the box was partially hardened. I always figured it was a pin hole in the bag or being exposed to some sort of moisture during packaging?
