Why is my stupid seastars are all window washer??

I just pick up a Linckia Sea Star, Blue (Linckia laevigata) at the store, on the sand......she was on the sand with own eyes, as soon as i put her in my tank she goes A WALL for my glass panels, why is that?


I have a formelia who i know they do that all the time and from time to time wil go on rocks and things and are always on the glass panels, but this one Linckia laevigata is suppose to be a sand and rock dweller.


I was hoping for a daytime sand inhabitand, while my brittle stars would be night sand dwellers. Any ideas on whats going on ?


This is part of her description:


the Blue Linckia Sea Star prefers a well-lit sandy or coral rubble substrate, with many rocky hiding places. They are basically herbivorous and detritus feeders. Occasional feedings with algae pellets may prove beneficial.

Could be it's after any film algae that's on the glass.
