Wicked Pectinia

I saw this on ebay and just thought it was so cool! I want this!1smile1I think the orange eyes and orange rim will really glow.. I had not heard of pectinias until recently. I have been seeing them a little more and really really like them. I have not seen much about their care. I have one and they definitely like low light and I finally saw tentacles coming out of one of its eyes. Anyone know much about these?:ooh: Anyone have any pictures of ones they have? They seem to behave very similarly to chalices. I really think they are awesome!:beauty: I think a good name for this would be Demon Eyes Pectinia or Darth Maul Pectinia!:snicker:

LOL Yes I did pick up one with green eyes. Don't you think I need an orange one to go along with it! Pectinia addiction is right! :) I think this one will color up to something special.

It does look like a demon face! How about demon pectinia? I agree it looks like a cross between an sps and a chalice! Kinda reminds me of those scary trees on the Wizard of oz! :)

Thats an awesome pectinia. Mine looked similar when I first bought it. Slow acclimation to intense light brought out a nice green sparkle.

Do you have a picture? I have noticed the one I have is starting to get green streaks where some of the brown coloration is.

Wow! That's an awesome looking pectinia! Very nice colors!

Thanks! It was an odd shape when I got it, so I cut it into a few managable frags. With any luck they will grow into the nice ruffled flower shape like the one pictured above.

So are they easy to frag? Are they similar to chalices as far as fragging.

I'm not sure how my piece compares to all other pectinas, being that this was my first, but it was very brittle. I'm keeping the frags alive with not much new growth.

heheh sorry cant resist

Really? :waaaht:Was it you! Well you better at least post pictures of it and how it changes colors!

Yeah that's what I'm worried about the structure looks fragile. I like mine so much I don't really want to frag it anyway but I would be afraid to frag it.
