Wild Caught Feather Duster - what if..?

So. . .i went diving today and couldn't resist tho cool looking feather dusters I saw :D

I caught two of them. Just to make sure I didn't hurt the worm as I cut it off, I took the whole tube, which is pretty large for my 11g.

My question is: would it be OK to cut the tube to better fit my tank, or may the worm be the actual length of the tube, and cutting it would hurt / kill him?

A worm that large you’re going to have great difficulty feeding it In Tank that small.

I wouldn’t cut it if it were you.

Agreed. Dont cut it, you risk cutting the worm itself. Probably would be best to put it back where you found it.

Maybe an image will help give you guys the right idea of what I'm referring to.

I might be wrong but I don't feel the duster itself is too big for the tank, but the tube is rather long and hard to place.

Do you guys maintain your opinions after seeing the images?

Leave them. Dont cut them. They're in there and open. I wouldnt mess with them any firther.

Where did you find these? (like what country do you live in?). Water conditions may be different than that of your tank

I live in the Azores. The only water parameter that's going to be off is temperature. Tank is run at 27 Celsius and water temperature was at 24 degrees where I found them...floated them before adding of course...

As long as it acclimates to temperature it should be fine then.
