Do they or do they not, I’ve heard conflicting info

They may share the same burrow, but they won't pair like other gobies.

It's up to you. Diamond goby will constantly roam and sift sand all day. It won't stay in the burrow like other gobies. Also, at night Diamond goby will cover up the burrow entrance which may conflict with the pistol shrimp. If you want goby that pairs up with pistol shrimp, you need to look into shrimp gobies.

I doubt it I have one in my lagoon and it has multiple caves/burrows it attends to all day. If you have rock in your tank make sure it is resting on the bottom or the goby will do it for you. The one I had in my 180 lowered the entire rockscape 2.5 inches over the course of a few months. They are also jumpers and escape artists but they are also one of my favorite fish.
