Hey guys, I’m getting a pretty decent buildup of green turf algae. Previously I would remove my rock work and spray hydrogen peroxide on it and it would go away within a few days but now with my heavily stocked tank and a lot of corals glued to the rocks, I am hesitant to pull my rocks back out to dose hydrogen peroxide. I noticed people have success with flux RX, but I’m curious if it’ll work with turf algae? If not, is there any other ways of dosing with hydrogen peroxide with the rocks still in the tank?

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but essentially you can dose your entire tank with peroxide. It's a carbon dosing technique.

Do some reading on carbon dosing. I mentioned that in a previous thread of yours.

Are you positive it's turf algae?

I’ll look into that. Thanks!

In my humble opinion, I'd ditch the idea of using chemicals and strengthen your CUC.
Agreed. That’s how I always wanted to move. The natural way. I have a pretty large clean up crew but no one seems to touch the green turf algae. I have over 20 snails and 15 hermits. 2 tuxedos and 2 emerald crabs. No one cares for the turf algae lol

Personally I have little tufts like that spotted around my tank, I wouldn't suggest adding chemicals to your tank just for that. A couple of turbo snails will take care of that. Personally I feel the better option is to increase your filtration (nutrient export) since you feel you have a heavy bioload.
