I just plumed an Eshopps overflow box drain to a pvc pipe and leak test before gluing shows a slow drip leak. Will gluing the pvc in stop the leak ?

Also dry all fittings thoroughly, before primer or glue. I use no primer, blue glue

The primer softens the material. Good if your PVC, bad if your ABS. Says it on the glue instructions. Also the primer will increase pushback on abs parts
Guess I'll just cross my fingers on that one [emoji45]

Nearly all bulkheads are abs. Pretty sure eshopps are.

don’t know.

twist and hold will avoid any push back - pvc or abs. also, abs doesn’t need primer because it’s much less dense than pvc and will soften easier. abs also doesn’t contain as much oil as pvc, which primer helps remove from the surface.

It also depends on the type of primer. Almost every all-purpose primer I've worked with states explicitly that it's OK to use with abs.

Now if you're using specialized primer and it says to not use it, alright. However I've found the standard primer from Lowe's/home Depot stated it was okay for use with ABS.

So, the guy at HD recommended to me ABS to PVC transition green cement. Went with that, hoping for the best.
