I have a rhodactis mushroom (according to those who know more than me). I don’t think it’s an elephant ear that habitually attracts and eats fish (amplexidiscus fenestratus) as it is pretty lumpy and does t look like it has that bare ring.

Buts it’s pretty large and has a mouth and is growing bigger….

So would it eat my fish?

It would not be a concern of mine. The Coralmorph is not large enough. My clowns resided in larger Coralmorphs without issue. I believe there are incidents of large Coralmorphs consuming sleeping fish but I think it's a rarity.

How big can it get before my fish are in danger? I’ve got some anthias who like to hide behind it and a lawnmower blenny who likes to sit on it.

As large as your hand. I doubt healthy Anthias are in any danger. A healthy fish perched on that size of Rhodactis would not concern me.
Rhodactis can reproduce quickly and become invasive. To prevent future worries just remove the Coralmorphs from the system.

🙂

Thanks. It’s about 6cm across fully extended. So about as big as my hand.

I’m aware of their invasive potential, but thanks for the heads up on that one.
