Will this kill the ricordia?

I've had a really hard time getting this ricordia to latch to something. I put it in a cup with rocks and somehow it slid under them all. I tried to tie it down with fishing line and it slid out. It's staying like this and kind of pokes it's way through the net, but it has some decent pressure on it. Will this work or am I killing it?
