I'm trying to figure out if the pump I have is good enough for my tank.
The tank is about 65 gallons with eshopps eclipse large overflow box (I got it second hand predrilled so I don't think i can change the pipe sizes) Sump is about 18 gallons. There is a icecape 2k gyre pump in the tank as well. I'm planning on only doing soft and a few LPS coral.
Vertical lift (sump → tank): 4.0 ft
Horizontal pipe (4 ft): ~0.4 ft
4 x 90° elbows: ~2.0 ft (0.5 ft each)
1 Tee fitting: ~0.5 ft
Total: ~7 ft
From the pump to the tee it is 2ft of 1 inch silicone tube and the rest is 1/2" pvc.
What would be an appropriate turnover? I hear 5x-10x and then I saw a BRS video saying something like 3x is fine as well.
If I understand correctly if I go for 5x turnover, the pump should deliver 325GPH at 7ft of head.
The pump I was looking at was the Jebao DXP 2500 DC pump where I couldn't find a chart for it just that it's 660GPH that goes up 9.8 ft according to their table.
With the head pressure would a DC pump rated for 660GPH be enough or should I go bigger?
